| Recent event: I strained my
shoulder joints and elbows hopping over fences, and subsequently developed
strained arm muscles and joints in general. Method via which the event is achieved:
Jumping onto a pool fence almost as tall as me (I am 5'9"), pushing
myself up onto the edge, and levering my body over to the other side. Motivation: Searching
for a baby sulcata tortoise which I let out onto a patch of grass to
graze, which disappear when I looked up again from the book I was
reading. Factors contributing to the event: Not ever exercising my upper body. Lower body exercises (walking, cycling and rollerblading) only.
Result: Sore muscles and joints. Almost constant reliance on electric heat pad. Moral of the story: Do
not agree to take care of sulcata tortoises. But if you do, do not take
them out to graze and look like an idiot standing in the middle of
nowhere walking a pair of tortoises. But if you do, do not lose sight of them by being a
smartass and pass the time by reading about ethnic conflict history in
Syria and Lebanon. But if you do, do not push yourself over fences as
tall as you in search for lost tortoise(s), straining your arms muscles and joints. But if you do, you
are screwed and may not have learned some lessons.
LESSON NOT LEARNED:
DO NOT TYPE WHEN ARMS/HANDS ARE HURT.
